Kathryn Pahmiyer Parker, 80, of Cuero passed away Friday, June 11, 2010. She was born December 11, 1929 in Cuero to the late Albert and Lorene Pahmiyer. Kathryn dearly loved and was extremely proud of her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was born, raised, and lived her life in Cuero, but visited many places such as New York, West Virginia, Virginia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and Hawaii with her family.
Kathryn attended school to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the mid-1960s and worked for the Texas Department of Health until her retirement in the mid-1990s. She was a Sunday school teacher for the ladies' class at Calvary Baptist Church in Cuero for many years, enjoyed crocheting, was a longtime member of the LVN Association of Texas, and cherished time with her children and grandchildren. She is fondly remembered by her grandchildren for many things including floating the Frio, cheese grits, and 'Cinderella'.
She is survived by her sons, Dwayne Parker and J.D. 'Jim' Parker, both of Cuero and Kenneth A. Parker of Victoria; sister, Joyce Dove of Bay City; grandchildren, Tina Parker of Lake Jackson, Laura Parker of Austin, Rachel Parker Longoria of Katy, Lisa Parker Youngblood of Austin, Amber Parker Vogt of Hamilton, New York, Nathan A. Parker of Yoakum, and Hannah and Naomi Parker of Victoria; and great-grandchildren, Maddy and Connor Longoria, Parker Vogt, and Evan Youngblood.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Monday, June 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2010, 2 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Parker and Pastor Bill Gleason officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Parker, Randy Longoria, John Youngblood, Roy Kueker, Robert King, Shelton Parker, and honorary pallbearer, Casey Vogt.
