On January 12, 1930, a child of God was born to Oscar and Eddie Arkadie Johnson, and her name was Kathryn Ann Johnson. She was one of four siblings. At an early age she dedicated her life to Christ at Mount Bethel Baptist Church and later, became a devoted member of the First Baptist Church family. Kathryn was a very sweet and caring person, with a warm heart and kind word for everyone. She was active in the Cuero community. While she was known to listen to all, she saw the best in everyone. Kathryn married the love of her life, James T. Scott, and they had recently celebrated 66 years together. On March 11, 2018, God called her home. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Oscar Johnson; brothers, Calvin and Lewis Johnson; her son, Oscar Scott; and grandson, Gabriel Scott. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, James T. Scott; her sister, Ora Franklin; sons, James Scott-Taylor (Hilda), David Scott (Judy) & Frederick Scott; granddaughters, Andria Lynette Scott, Mary Kathryn Dowl(Randle); grandsons, LeDonne Scott, Brandon Scott, Patrick Scott, Shanell Scott; great grandchildren, Romeo, Monti, Lenia, Reagan, Dillion, Parish, Oscar; and numerous great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and their children. The visitation will be held Saturday March 17, 2018 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church. The funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Glynn Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Pall bearers will include Brandon Scott, Patrick Scott, LeDonne Scott, Warner Scott, Sammy Williams, and Kenyatta Griffin. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Bethel Baptist Church or First Baptist Church.
