IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathy
Stanfill
November 22, 1955 – November 11, 2018
Audrey Kathleen Stanfill , known by everyone as Kathy, of Cuero, Texas, met Jesus face to face on November 11, 2018, at the age of 62. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, on November 22, 1955, to Sam and Audrey Nell Simpson. She graduated from Cuero High School and Victoria Beauty College in 1974 before marrying her husband, Neal, on October 19 of that same year.
Kathy was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She selflessly served everyone around her and brought joy to the lives of everyone she met. She committed her life to Christ at an early age and faithfully served Him all of her days. She enjoyed serving Him as a Sunday School teacher to youth for over 40 years. She considered it a privilege to be able to serve Christ by serving others in the community of Cuero through her work at Cuero ISD where she was employed for 32 years, 18 of which as the Superintendent's Secretary. Yet, Kathy served Christ best in the ways in which she loved and served her family, including the more than 30 foster children she and her husband cared for.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Neal; daughter, Jaime, son, Justin and wife, Elane , and son, Vincent and wife, Kelle . She is also survived by her parents, Sam and Audrey Nell Simpson; her sister, Julie McMichael and husband, E.J.; brother, John Simpson and wife, Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her sister, Susan "Suzie" Joan Simpson.
The family will warmly welcome visitors on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero. A celebration of life service will be held at First Baptist Church in Cuero on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Glenn Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero. Pallbearers include John Paul Jackson, Matthew Jackson, Wilson Judd, Alex Proctor, Kaiden Shafer, Adam Simpson, Joel Lee West, and Tyler Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the building fund at First Baptist Church in Cuero.
