Obituary

Kenneth Guy Liesman of Cuero died Tuesday morning, April 19, 2011 at the age of 84.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Billie Nell Jacobs Liesman; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Debbie Liesman, Bruce and Anna Liesman, all of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Tessa Liesman, William (Gage) Liesman, McKenna Liesman, and Kristen Liesman; two sisters, Mildred Phillips and Jean Robertson; and three brothers, Glenn Liesman, Mike Liesman and George "Ike" Liesman.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Thusnelda Nolte Liesman; sister, Bessie Perry and brother, Dean Liesman.

A member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church since 1951, Kenneth was a WW II Navy veteran, long time employee of DuPont, school teacher and counselor, cattle rancher, Boy Scout Master, long-time member of Lions Club, American Legion, VFW, and Cancer Society; President of the DeWitt County Historical Museum; volunteer fireman for CVFD; was honored as the Hospice Volunteer of the Decade in 1999 by Hospice of South Texas; and as Cuero Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year 1997.

The family will receive friends and family at Freund Funeral Home on Thursday April 21, 2011 at 5:30 to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 9:30am. Burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of South Texas or to St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Cuero.
