Miss LaJoy Marie McKaine, 38, of Cuero went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. She was born March 6, 1983 in Cuero to Walter Vernell Houston and Nellie Marie McKaine. LaJoy attended Cuero High school and graduated with honors. She worked as a Nurse Aide and will truly be missed. She cherished her family and friends.

She is survived by her parents, Walter Vernell Houston and Nellie Marie McKaine both of Cuero; daughter, Yazmine McKaine of Cuero; sister, Rhonda (Glen) Thomas of Cuero; brothers, Dominic McKaine of Cuero and JayVance Thomas of Cuero.

She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, the late Samuel McKaine /Betty Julia Mathis and Vernon Lee Barfield/Erma Olivia Houston and her beloved brother, Vernell Vershon McKaine.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021, 9 am at Freund Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 10 am with Rev. Lou Terry Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Lockhart Cemetery.
