Obituary

Lalo Bernard Lira Jr. was born
January 31, 1935 in Gonzales, to Lalo B Lira Sr. and Lena Martinez Lira. He attend school at St. Michael's Catholic School- then public school and graduated from Cuero High School. He joined the Cuero National Guard while in High School, upon graduation he joined the U.S. Marines and served for 8 years in Vietnam. He played in the Marines band the first year and then was in front line duty. He was active in the Toys for Tots and Marine Corps League. He worked for Gary Aircraft in Victoria, then at Hando. He went on to work for Cancho Construction in Garland, TX until retirement. He will be remembered for always showing up at holidays with gifts for all his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his sisters, Lena Jasso and husband, Bernard, Estella Lira, Becky Lira, and Gloria Hernandez and husband, Carlos and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Cecelia Juarez, Aurora Davis, and one brother William Lira.

Rosary will be held Friday, August 10, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home Chapel followed by a Service at 10:00 a.m. with Father David Burger officiating.

Memorials can be made to St. Michael's School or Our Lady of Guadalupe building fund.
