Larry Buch

Larry Neil Buch, a devoted father, brother and proud grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, at the age of 69. He was born on December 14, 1956, to Adolph and Willie (Gatlin) Buch in Yorktown, Texas. Larry was a private and quiet person but also a man of immense integrity and kindness. He graduated from Nordheim High School. Upon graduation he began his career in the oilfield, where he worked for over 20 years. He was a Tool Pusher and Driller, working for Southland, BDK and Patterson Drilling.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman, for many years he raised cattle and did other farm work. He found joy in fishing, hunting and more recently began gardening, where he enjoyed harvesting his own fruits and vegetables. It was the simple things in life that brought him happiness. Larry loved sharing stories with his grandchildren, about his hog hunting adventures and how much he loved the sport, leaving behind a legacy and memories that they will cherish forever.

Larry is survived by his daughters, Cheryle Martinez (Casimiro) and Sharon Ann Buch; sisters, Gladys Brandstetter, Marylin Filip and Joyce Strauss (Donald); brother, Michael Buch; grandchildren, Deandra Garcia (Trey), Britney Rodriguez (Nathaniel), Eliza Jimenez (John), Mason Martinez (Ariela), Isaac Perez (Destiny) and Jacob Perez; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Liam, and Angela Huerta, Scarlette Garcia, Ella Grace Martinez, Amelia Marie Rodriguez and Elijah and Indy Perez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gilbert Buch and sister-in-law, Janis; granddaughter, Noemi Perez and brother-in-law, August Filip Jr.

Pallbearers include Richard Filip, Clint Brandstetter, Gaylon Buch, Mason Martinez, Aaron Strauss and Isaac Perez.

Visitation will be held at Freund Funeral Home on Saturday, January 10, 2026, 1:30 PM with funeral services beginning at 2:30 PM. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
