July 7, 1952 – April 28, 2018
Lester Joseph Dimoree, Jr., age 65, lost his courageous battle with cancer Saturday, April 28, 2018, with his family and Pastor at his side. He was known by friends and family as "Joey". He was born July 7, 1952 in Freeport to the late Lester J. Dimoree, Sr. and Erma Faye (Phillips) Dimoree. He graduated from Deer Park High School and then attended San Jacinto College. He moved from the Pasadena area with his parents to the Midway area. He worked at Kaspar Wire Works for 24 years as a shipping clerk. Many will remember him as one of the clerks from Tiger Tote. He retired from being a security guard at Eddy Packing in February.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Stephanie "Stef" (Janik) Dimoree of Yoakum; daughter, Tanya Cecil, of Gonzales; son-in-love, Chris Cecil, of Victoria; four grandchildren, Makayla Cecil and fiancé, Angel Garcia, of Yoakum, Dylan Cecil of Victoria, Makenna Cecil of Yoakum, and Makenzie Cecil of Victoria; great-grandson, Rayden Garcia of Yoakum; cousins, numerous friends, and furbabies, Sparkie, Duchess, and Mo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Ralph Franzetti and furbaby, Rocki.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 pm on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2pm on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Pastors Robert Moore and Michael King will say a few words. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero. Memorial contributions may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
