Linda Beatrice Sigmund, 69, of Cuero passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 following a sudden illness. Linda was born February 10, 1946 in Cuero, Texas to the late Clara Hadamek Sigmund and Glenn Floyd Sigmund, Sr. She was a lifelong resident of Cuero where she grew up with her brother and sister in a wonderful, loving home. She attended Cuero schools and began what would become a career spanning 52 years of service with Davis Plumbing Company, which is now Davis Contractors. She started working there part time during high school and was the company's Office Manager right up until her recent departure. She enjoyed her work and coworkers so much she delayed retirement until "later." Linda was especially fond of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Davis, who were close friends. The love of her life was Ray Leggett, also of Cuero, who shared many fun times over the years together. Outside of work, Linda enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and gardening, and she was an extraordinary "Aunt Linda" to 8 nieces, one nephew and numerous great nieces and nephews. Being much younger than her siblings, Linda held almost "Sister" status to her siblings' children who adored her. She was always present in huge ways in their lives and never missed an opportunity to show her affection and, of course, her sense of humor. She loved to joke around, play pranks and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan who loved to promote her team and simply enjoy her family. She also had an equal affection for her friends, often baking special desserts for which she became very well known. Her love of animals was contagious, and she always had many special pets that she loved dearly. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and older brother and sister. Visitation will be held Friday, November 20, 2015 at Freund Funeral Home from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero beginning at 2 pm with Ms. Mary Ann Flessner officiating. Pallbearers include James Sigmund, Rick Thompson, Keith Gage, Gary Willison, John Thompson, Pat Lange, Rex Palmer, Donald Pickery and Drew Wilson. Honorary pallbearers include all of her great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or Pet Adoptions of Cuero.
