Lois Evelyn Day, 87, of Houston formerly of Cuero, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013. She was born June 26, 1926 in Cuero to the late Frank R. and Erna A. Buehrig Thieme. She married her beloved husband William Dalton Day at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero. After several years of being a medical technician, her and her husband started a successful construction supply business. Lois also loved to ranch and was an avid bridge player.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Day; Son, William Dalton Day, Jr. and wife, Mary; grandchildren, Dawn Anderson and Stephen Day; great-granddaughter, Emily Glawson; sister, Helen Talley and family.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 25, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2013 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Pastor Karl Biermann officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Mike Talley, Clayton Kenne, Gary Talley, Warren Buchhorn, and Stephen Day.

Honorary pallbearers is Justin Talley, Travis Thamm and Tyler Buchhorn.
