Loraine Sutherland, 86, of Smiley passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 19, 2011. She was born October 26, 1924 to the late Harvey M. and Hettie Elizabeth Bolton Cathcart. She married Ray Kenneth Sutherland on February 15, 1945 in Phoenix, Arizona. Loraine was a bookkeeper and a member of Westhoff Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years; daughters, Judy Perez of Smiley, Sandy Rosencrans of Fishers, Indiana, and Janet Velasquez of San Angelo; grandchildren, David Rosencrans of Colorado Springs, CO, Julie Ratcliffe of Vienna, Virginia, Veronica Pedersen of San Antonio, Jonathan Velasquez of Kings Bay, Georgia, and Jeffrey Velasquez of Prescott, Arizona; and brother, Harold Cathcart of Tucson, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harvey Cathcart Jr., Jimmy Cathcart, and Floyd Mac Cathcart; and sister, Betty Riddell.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Rich Schaller officiating.
