Louis Douglas "L.D." Decker, Jr., 60, of Cuero, formerly of Gonzales, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015. He was born February 19, 1954 in Gonzales to the late Eva Irene Simmons Decker and Louis Douglas Decker, Sr. L.D. married Marsha Lynn Wingett on March 12, 1977 in Gonzales. He was a disc jockey at KCTI Station from 1994 to 2008 and was a sports and news editor. L.D. spent the later years of his life singing with the Decker Family and the Lexington Gospel Quartet.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Marsha Decker; daughter, Kelleye Dawn Decker of Cuero; son, Louis Edward Decker and wife, Jennifer, of Yoakum; sister, Lois Leazer and husband, Wayne, of Gonzales; brother, Tim Decker, Sr. and wife, Michelle, of Gonzales; two nieces; three nephews; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015, 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Gonzales.
