Louis M. Liendo Jr., 80, of Cuero passed away Friday, September 28, 2012. He was born November 29, 1931 to Louis Sr. and Juanita Zapata Liendo. He married his beloved wife, Frances Escamia Liendo, on April 21, 1956 in Cuero. He was a state employee for 40 years, he was on the Knights of Columbus (Grand Knight) Council 1682, a member of the Golden Crescent Regional Advisory Commission, A Scout Master of troop 244, Choir Member of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a Chairman of Jamaica for many years, a member of the Guadalupanos, the President of band parents, and a Little League Umpire for many years.
He is survived by his wife, daughters, Yvon Ruschhaupt and husband, Michael Ruschhaupt and Tina Liendo-Huerta and husband, Donald Bauer both of Cuero; sons, Louis Steven Liendo of Cali, Raul A Liendo Sr. and wife, Rosemary, of Victoria, Joseph Liendo and wife, Dianne, of Cuero; sister, Josephine Liendo of Cuero; brothers, Robert Liendo of Victoria and Johnny Liendo of Cali; 9 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Myrtle Liendo and Carrie Liendo; brothers, Adolph Liendo, Felix Liendo, Anthony Liendo, and Ernest Liendo.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 1, 2012 from 6-8 pm, with a rosary starting at 7 pm, at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Services will be held October 2, 2012 at 10 am, at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Father David Berger. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Michael Ruschhaupt, Donald Bauer, Frank Ceballos, Cole Lane Liendo, Michael Allen Munoz, David Varela, Raul Liendo Jr., and Kevin Hernandez.
Honorary Pallbearers include Roger Macias, Martin Torres, Richard Olguin, Harold Fowler, Leroy Liendo, Ricky Varela, Concepcion Garza, Joe Frank Arguellez, Albundio Arguellez, Esiquio Ybarra, and Knights of Columbus.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
