Mrs. Louisa Mejia Guerra, 98, of Cuero, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018. She was born August 21, 1919 in Gonzales County to the late Isaac and Victoria Moreno Mejia. She enjoyed sewing, playing bingo, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Louisa is survived by her daughter, Delia Guerra of Waco, Alfie (Ernie) Driver, of Pasadena, Ader (Sonny) Guillen of Marque, Hilda (Ray) Fletcher of Bear Hope, AL, and Lydia (Andy) Galindo of Cuero; sons, Carlos (Petronia) Guerra of Cuero, Rick Guerra of Versailles, CA, and Ray Guerra Sr. of Bay City; brother, Manuel (Gloria) Mejia of Bay City; 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carlos Guerra Sr; sisters, Trine Sertuche, Maria Gutierrez, and Theresa Fernandez; and brothers, Isaac Mejia and Esteban Mejia.
The visitation will be held Monday, May 21, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 p.m at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018, 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jacob Mendoza officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Eric Corpus, Derrick Corpus, Jason Munoz, Mark Guillen, Sammy Cordova, and Rey Guerra Jr. Honorary pallbearers include Nathan Corpus, Andy Galindo, and Norman Mejia.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
