CUERO - Loyd Clinton Brown passed away Friday Dec. 5, 2008 at the age of 92. Loyd was born Aug. 12, 1916, in Port Lavaca, and lived in McAllen most of his life.
Loyd was an automobile mechanic by profession, worked as an airplane mechanic for Civil Service during WWII at Moore Air Field, and retired as a teacher and a school employee in McAllen. After retirement, he lived in Bastrop for 20 years and he resided in Cuero the last five and one half years.
He is survived by three daughters, Joyce Mullins and husband Jerry of Pipe Creek, Pam Anderson and husband Wallace of Cuero, and Penny Bartnesky and husband Daniel of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Elouise Nelson Brown; parents, Walter Brown and Stella Record Brown; two sisters, Bertha Moore and Amelia Ross; and one great-granddaughter, Sherrie Anderson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero with the Rev. Debby Lake officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Anderson, Jerry Mullins Jr., Mark Mullins, Blake Mullins, Alex Bartnesky, Chris Ryan, and John Logan.
