Lucia "Cil" Bustos, 83, was born on January 2, 1934, to the late Santiago and Antonia Garcia Bustos in Green Dewitt-Arneckeville. She passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017, in Cuero. Lucia worked all her life until retirement. First as a laborer and then as a house keeper and nanny. After she retired she continued to do for others. She loved to quilt, cook, bake, and work with flowers.

Lucia is survived by her sisters, Estella Hysquierdo and Mary Ortiz of Cuero; brother, Santiago Bustos Jr. of Connecticut; four nieces and two nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and many others that she has raised.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul; two great nieces and two great nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with rosary beginning at 9:30 a.m. Services will begin at 10 a.m. with Father Jacob Mendoza officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jose Ortiz, Jr. , Randall Flessner, Rodney Flessner, Ricky Deal, and David Maldonado, with Aaron Villarreal serving as an honorary pallbearer.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
