CUERO - Lucy Leticia Cantu Vasquez, 48, of Houston, passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2009. She was born May 15, 1961, in Cuero, to Andrea Elma Saenz and Limneo Cantu. She was a homemaker and was an
inspiration and the foundation of the whole family. Her accomplishments were marrying her husband and having a daughter. She overcame a lot of obstacles, but she proved doctors wrong in many ways.

She is survived by her parents; husband, Jose Luis Vasquez (married Oct. 2, 1982 in Houston); daughter, Erica Isabel Vasquez of Houston; brothers, Johnny Ruben Cantu of Fort Worth, Ronnie Cantu of Keller, and Jamie Ryan Guillen of Fort Worth; and grandchildren, Joaquin Gabriel Vasquez-Cook of Houston and
Luciana Lily Vasquez-Hernandez of Houston.

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., at Freund Chapel in Cuero. The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 10, 2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe, with Father Kirby officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. in Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Ronnie Cantu, Ruben Cantu, Ryan Guillen, Juan Hernandez, Johnny Cantu, Micheal Garcia, and Gume Garcia.
