Obituary

Mrs. Lucy Mae Thomas Wimbish was born in DeWitt County to Will and Bernice Thomas on July 13, 1937. She gave her life to Christ at a very early age and has been a long time member of Macedonia Baptist Church under the guidance of Pastor I.J. Clayton Jr. She resided at Cuero Nursing and Rehabilitation Center until she gained her heavenly wings on December 16, 2021. Lucy attended Daule High School, where she perfected sewing and crafts, and then continued her education in California.

Later in life, she married David E. Wimbish of Cuero, Texas and within that marriage they had a wonderful son, Oscar Brazzell; a daughter, Brenda (Frank) and two grandchildren, Joey and Mikie.

Lucy is preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, James, "T" Javance, Leslie, Tommie, and Clarence; and five sisters, Willie, Carrie, Ruby, Sadie, Bernice and Jeraline.

She leaves behind, a host of nieces and nephews, loving family and friends and her lifelong friend, Beverly McNary.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021, 9 AM at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero. Funeral Services will begin at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
