Lytha Hjort Keesler, 103, of Cuero went to be with her Heavenly Father Wednesday, July 12, 2017. Her daughter was by her side.
She was born November 23, 1913 in Le Grande, Iowa. She was the daughter of Bertha Hempker Hjort and Albert Donovan Hjort. She lived most of her life in El Dorado, Kansas where she graduated from High School. She was a graduate of Wichita College. She married her high school sweetheart, Joe Keesler on November 26, 1936.
Lytha and her family moved to Cuero in 1945 and purchased a business at 118 East Main Street. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and served as church secretary. Lytha was a secretary for DeWitt County Schools and then worked for Cuero I.S.D. from 1958 until her retirement in 1985, where she was affectionately known as Mrs. K. She was a charter member of The Pilot Club of Cuero and had perfect attendance until she became an emeritus member. Lytha served as president of the local organization and Secretary of the Texas District of Pilot International. She served on the board of the Cuero Public Library for many years.
Lytha is survived by a daughter, Vicki Jo Coppedge (Raleigh), a granddaughter, Lisa Keesler, a grandson, Marc Coppedge (Shanna), a grandson, Jason Keesler (Amy),and great grandchildren, Mackenzie Coppedge, Raleigh Coppedge, Kaitlin Coppedge, Lucas Keesler, and Ellie Keesler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother and sister, and son, Larry Keesler.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery with Pastor Sharron Wiggins officiating. Interment will follow.
