Obituary
Mrs. Maria R. Garcia, 66, of Cuero, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2010. She was born April 9, 1943, in Mathis, to the late Jesus and Blasa Guevara Rodriguez. She married Raymond A. Garcia on July 22, 1964.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Diana Garibay of Victoria, Isabel Santana, Rose Castaneda, and Melissa Mills, all of Cuero, and Mary Saldana of Corpus Christi; son, Leon Garcia of Cuero and Marty Garcia; sister, Carmen Sepulbeda of Crystal City; brothers, Abraham Rodriguez of Mathis and Johnny Rodriguez of Victoria; 24 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, Feb. 4, 2010, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Jerusalem Baptist Church, with Mr. Dan Cancino officiating. Interment will follow at San Isidro Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Garibay, Fabian Guerrero, John Mills, Larry Garcia, Matthew Anzaldua, Michael Castaneda, Alfred Anzaldua, and James Mills.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jerusalem Baptist Church.
