Maria Antonia 'Toni' Gonzales, 86, of Cuero peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at her daughters home in Dickinson. She was born on March 18, 1937 in Cheapside to Jose and Maria Gonzales Cervantes. She was a member of the Guadalupanas at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret (Larry) Salinas, Eva Gonzales and Mary (Armando) Corpus; son, Cruz (Sharon) Gonzales Jr.; sisters, Janie Gonzales and Francis Lazo; brother, Inez Cervantes; twenty-seven grandchildren and fifty-four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cruz Gonzales Sr.; daughters, Gloria Tipton and Rosemary Gonzales; son, Johnny A. Gonzales; sisters, Lupe Cervantes, Josephine Diaz, Ramona Rodriguez and Maria Trejo and brother, Joe Cervantes Jr.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 8, 2023, 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with a rosary at 9:30 AM. Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 AM with Father Jacob Mendoza officiating. Interment will follow at San Luis Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Jerry Gonzales, Steven Salinas, Marvin Ramsey, Steven Rawlinson, Brandon Stehling and Marty Hernandez.

Honorary Pallbearers include her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and niece, Nico Sertuche.
