Maria L. Torres,74, of Westhoff passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. She was born on May 26, 1939, in Arneckeville to the late Ortino Bustos Licon and Victoria Garcia Licon. She loved her family and friends.  Maria was the proud owner of Torres Grocery in Westhoff for 22 years.

She is survived by her  children, Penny T. Hernandez (Herman Sr.), Ronnie Torres, and Brenda T. King (Joesef); sisters, Ellie L. Gonzales (Joe) and Gloria L. Barron (Domingo); brothers, Ben Licon (Ellie), Danny Licon (Andrea), and Ortino Licon; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Rueben Licon, Jose Licon, and Robert Licon.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home.  Services will be Sunday, May 4, 2014, 2:00 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Brown officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Torres, James W. Osburn III, Herman R. Hernandez Jr., Christian A. Juarez, Tyler S. King, and Taylor S. King.
