Obituary

Marilyn Morrow Balch, 66, of Maryland passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 in Austin. She was born March 1, 1944 in DeWitt County to Gladys Rentz Morrow and the late Terry Morrow. She married Larry DeWayne Balch on November 23, 1963 in Cuero. Marilyn graduated from Cuero High School and later attended school for medical records technician at Hendrick Memorial Hospital in Abilene, Texas. Marilyn was a medical records technician for many years and retired to enjoy time with her family. Marilyn enjoyed playing both golf and tennis. She scored a hole-in-one in golf and went to the USTA National play-offs with her tennis team.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years; son, Derek L. Balch of Arnold, Maryland; mother, Gladys Rentz Morrow of Cuero; sisters, Terlene Morrow Ocean of Austin, Patsy Morrow Russell of Cuero, and Rosemary Morrow of Austin; and brother, William 'Bill' Morrow of Cuero. She is also survived by four nephews and three nieces.

She is preceded in death by her father, William Terry Morrow and niece, Emily Michelle Morrow.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero. Services will be held Thursday, May 27, 2010, 10 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Gleason officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero.

Pallbearers include Mark Ocean, David Ocean, Stephen Ocean, Pekka Rintala, Justin Turner, and Kolton Smith.
