Obituary

Mrs. Marilyn Heldt Korth, 84, a lifelong resident of DeWitt County, Cuero, Texas, entered into eternal rest on November 7, 2012 in Cedar Park, Texas. Marilyn was born February 16, 1928 in Nordheim, Texas, one of ten children to Robert and Alvina Borchers Heldt.

She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers; Robert Heldt, Roland Heldt, Arnold Heldt, and four sisters, Junell Borth, Georgie Williams, Francis Gates and infant sister. She is survived by one brother Eddie Heldt of Weesatche and Violet Goehlke of Corpus Christi.

Marilyn is also preceded in death by her late husband, James Benjamin Korth, to whom she was united in marriage for forty-five years, and two sons; Robert Korth and James (Jimmy) Benjamin Korth, Jr. Together they operated Korth Service Center in Cuero for over thirty years. Marilyn was the smiling face in the office, visiting with friends and customers. She was a member of the Ruth Group at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, The Ladies Auxiliary of the Cuero VFW and the Cuero American Legion.

Marilyn is survived by her five daughters; Judy Saenz of Missouri City, Jeanie Canonico of Meridian, Janie Kenne of Missouri City, Joanie Davis of Cedar Park and Jill Bruss of Euless, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

She loved working in her yard and feeding her animals. In her younger days, dancing and playing dominoes was enjoyed with family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero from 6 to 8 pm. Services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 2:00 pm at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero. Interment will immediately follow at Memory Gardens in Cuero.

Pallbearers include Robert Saenz, Jack Canonico, Stephen Kenne, Charles Davis, Jeff Bruss, and Jacob Canonico.

Honorary pallbearers include Frank Chittum, Fernando Gonzalez, David Helton, Trey Howard, Neil Dougharty, and Donald Ness.

Memorials contributions may be offered to St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero or the Alzheimer's Association.
