Obituary

Mark Vincent Henneke, 66, of Cuero, formerly of Gonzales, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024.
He was born August 10, 1957, in Dallas to the late Harry and Nadine "Dee" Henneke.  Mark was
a retired Park Ranger serving Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority for 41 years.  He was the
ranger at Lake Wood Park near Gonzales and during his tenure there he made many
improvements to it.  Mark was also an avid stamp collector and loved vacationing in Las Vegas
where he could play slots and people watch.  He was an animal lover who befriended wild
squirrels and raised minnows and tropical fish.  A man way ahead of his times, Mark had an all-
electric car in the early 1980s.

Mark is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Boenig (Bob) of College Station and Terri Henneke
(Billy Beckett) of Corpus Christi.  He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Miles
Travis Wilson.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm, Monday, June 17, 2024, at Hillside Cemetery with
Pastor Jan Putnam officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation at
