Martha Sue Butler, 79, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in Victoria. She was born on July 21, 1932 in Leander to the late Joseph and Katy Flint. She married her late husband, W.H. Butler, on April 28, 1948 in Seguin. Martha was a very caring mother, daughter, niece, sister, and friend. She cared for her family and was always there to lend a helping hand to any and all.

She is survived by daughters, Joy Whitehead and husband, Jessie, of Cuero, Judy Butler and husband, Dennis, of Victoria, and Janis Bryant and husband, Steve, of Hemphil; brothers, Robert Flint and wife, Sheryl, of New Braunfels, J.B. Flint and wife, Delma, of Deer Park, and Floyd Flint and wife, Joyce; grandchildren, John Whitehead and wife, Amanda, of Dayton, Janet Kellogg and husband, Mark, of Corpus Christi, Jamie Whitehead of Cuero, Jessie Joe Butler of Maryville, MO, Jannifer Jolene Butler of Cuero, Sherie Butler of Williston, FL, James Bryant and wife, Anna, of Thicket, Audrey Chandler and husband, Justin, of Hemphil, Misty Laymon of Anniston, AL, Heidi McPherson of Jasper, AL, Robert Hayden and wife, Tara, of Victoria, Jade Dement of Victoria, and Amanda Weddle and husband, Dustin, of Edna; 28 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, June Hayden; son, Jimmie Butler; sisters, Wanda Snow and Barbara Ward; grandson-in-law, Kenneth Layman; and grandson, Chad Dement.

Visitation will be Friday, December 30, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, December 31, 2011, 2 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Joann Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Robert Hayden, Jade Dement, Justin Chandler, John Whitehead, Jamie Whitehead, and James Bryant.
