Mary Lou Coppedge, 85, of Cuero passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014. She was born March 2, 1929 in San Antonio to the late Edna Cobb. Mary Lou married John Coppedge on May 25, 1950 in Cuero. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Cuero serving as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Mary Lou enjoyed cooking, sewing, crochet, and was very involved in supporting her grandchildren's many activities.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, John Coppedge; children, Susan Goebel and husband, Johnny, of Cuero, Ricky Coppedge of Cuero, Randy Coppedge of Austin, and Karen Bade and husband, Augie, of Cuero; grandchildren, Kerry Goebel and wife, Debbie, Jennifer Parr and husband, Jamie, Kimberly Starkey and husband, Chad, and Amanda Bade and Mikey; 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in law, Mitchie Byrd and Evelyn Cobb.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Cobb and brother, LeRoy Cobb.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday, December 3, 2014, 1 p.m., at First Baptist Church with Dr. Glenn Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kerry Goebel, Jamie Parr, Chad Starkey, Mikey Rodriguez, Robert Pinon, and Kevin Cobb. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Adams, Vollie Williams, Scott Porter, and Brad Holder.
