Mary Ann Hancock, 67, of Cuero, passed away Monday March 26, 2018 after her yearlong courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 28, 1950 to the late Cleo and Louise Harvey Marks in Providence, KY. Mary married the love of her life, James Hancock, May 21, 1966, in Cuero. She loved dancing, playing poker, going to Coushatta, and junking in Warrenton with her family. Mary's truest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband; daughter, Raina (Keith) Samples; son, James "Jamie" (Mary Katherine) Hancock; granddaughter, Jessa (fiancée Brian Lacerda) Lee; grandsons, Warner and Weldon Hancock; sister, Donna Walker of Madisonville, KY and Linda (Ron) Peterson of Cuero; brothers, Karl "Butch" (Debbie) Marks of Texarkana, AR, Johnny (Marie) Marks of Utopia, and Frankie (Andre) Marks of Cuero; and many sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Cleo (Pinkie) Marks; and sister, Nancy Marks Hiett.
The visitation will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Barbara Beale officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Frankie Marks, Johnny Marks, Karl (Butch) Marks, Karl Allan Marks, Keith Samples, and Brian Lacerda.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cole Orht Fund or Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arneckeville.
