Mary Louise Hartman, 98, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017. She was born November 27, 1918 to the late Fritz and Annie Zedler Schorre. Mary married George Hartman on November 30, 1940 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cuero. She worked in the DeWitt County tax office for many years and as a teacher's aide in the Baytown Independent School District. Mary was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, The Altar Society, and the Cuero Community Hospital Auxiliary.

Mary is survived by her son, Don Hartman of Cuero; daughter, Georgianne "Anne" Hartman of Cuero; and grandsons, George Hartman of Cuero and John Hartman of Corpus Christi.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, September 30, 2017, 1 p.m., at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Jacob Mendoza officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include George Hartman, Butch Prause, Chuck Prause, John Hartman, Mark Prause, and Leslie Rabke. Honorary pallbearers include Ben Prause Jr. and Charles Prause.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church.
