Mary Louise Oellers Poenitzsch, 94, of Cuero passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011. She was born November 19, 1916 in Yoakum to the late Alex and Amelia Quast Oellers. Mary Louise married Jesse J. Poenitzsch in Cuero in 1932. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero since 1931.

She is survived by her son, Michael Poenitzsch and wife, Margie; daughter, Shirley Holtman; grandchildren, Harold Holtman and wife, Karen, Patricia Echols and husband, Shannon; Susan Kee, John Holtman and wife, Kelly, Troy Poenitzsch and wife Marti, and Tamara Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Amy, Andy, Eric, Jessica, Emily, Zachary, Sara, Katie, Courtney, Michaela, Alexandra, Cory, and Hunter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Marsha Poenitzsch.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Sunday, February 6, 2011, 3 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
