Mary R. Puente, 79, of Cuero, formerly of Yorktown, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011. She was born July 31, 1932 in Yorktown to the late Ed & Julia Rodriguez Ramos. She married the late Albert 'Preacher' Puente on July 15, 1950 in Cuero. She was a lifelong member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and was known for her sewing, knitting, quilting, & crocheting talents.


She is survived by daughters, Elena (Daniel) Macias of Houston, Irma Theresa Puente of Victoria, & Alicia Puente-Gamez of Cuero; sons, Mike (Esther) Puente of San Antonio & Paul (Dora) Puente of Houston; sister, Sophia Carmona of Othello, WA; 12 grandchildren; & 11 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Raquela 'Rocky' Puente; sons, Nativadad Albert Puente & John Puente; grandson Marcus Puente; & great-grandson Dorian Dante Salazar.


Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2011, at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
