Mary Stirneman, 68, of Cuero passed away Friday, December 8, 2017. She was born July 25, 1949 in Alvin to the late Lois Bass and Lois Hicks Rodgers. Mary married her husband, Shorty Stirneman, on May 3, 1969 in Point Comfort. She was a retired licensed vocational nurse at Whispering Oaks Manor and enjoyed spending time with her dogs. She is survived by daughters, Monica Kunkel of La Grange and Jamie Stirneman of Victoria; son, Danny Ray Stirnemann of Victoria; sisters, Patricia Taylor of La Grange, Kathy Bass of Danbury, Nancy Hernandez of Alvin, and Disa Schultz of Rosharon; brothers, Charlie Bass of Bandera and Billy Bass of San Antonio; grandchildren, Ryan Stirneman of Victoria, Hailey Stirneman of Kyle, KaNiah Coleman of Victoria, and Blaze Kunkel of La Grange. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and son, James Clifton Stirneman. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday, December 13, 2017, 10 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Jud officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers include Raymond Taylor, Rodger Taylor, Bubba Shultz, Jeffrey Taylor, Caleb Taylor and Tommy Stirneman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
