Mateo Barron Jr. "Road Dog", 63, of Cuero passed away July 8, 2019.  He was born July 31, 1955 in Cuero to the late Mateo Sr. and Fedencia Barron.  He married Cynthia Ramirez on November 14, 1978 in Cuero.  Mateo enjoyed fishing, football, being outdoors and driving his 18-wheeler.  He loved spending time with his family and friends, drinking coffee with his wife, but most importantly spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his mother; his loving wife of 40 years, Cynthia; daughters, Kimberly "The Favorite" Barron (Alex) and Ashley "The Baby" Barron (Jimmy); "Other Daughters", Shanell Aleman and Miranda Corpus; sister, Sandy (Wayne) Scroggins; brothers, Vidal (Matilda) Barron and John Castillo Jr.; grandchildren, Noah Matthew Barron, Aaliyah Renteria, Sahrye Lozano and Elijah Renteria.

He is preceded in death by his father and his sister, Maria DeLeon.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 12, 2019, 5 to 7 PM at Freund Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 13, 2019, 2 PM at Jerusalem Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Cancino officiating.  A time for food and fellowship will follow at Cuero Intermediate School to Celebrate the life of Mateo.

Pallbearers include Alex Renteria, Jimmy McDonald, Derrick Corpus, Bobby Banda, Noah Barron, Roy Franke II and Nathan Corpus.  Honorary Pallbearers include Eban Gonzales, Elijah Renteria, Drake Corpus, Danny Cuellar, Duke, Mac and Pool Player.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Jerusalem Baptist Church.
