Matthew Hernandez, 27, of Cuero passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017. He was born January 30, 1989 in Corpus Christi to Lorena Navarro, of Cuero, and the late Ricardo Hernandez Sr. Matthew enjoyed fishing, barbequing, and working on things around his house. Matthew is survived by his loving mother; brothers, Reymundo Navarro of Baytown, Ramon Navarro Jr. of Baytown, Ricardo Hernandez Jr. of Houston, Steven Mejias of Cuero, and Angel Hernandez of Cuero. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Sophia A. Hernandez. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Rosary will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Services will begin at 10 a.m. with Father Jasper Liggio officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stevie Ray Alvarez, Christopher Hernandez, John Arellano, Oscar Hernandez, Bradley, Hernandez, and Rudy Olvera. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
