Obituary

Melba Trevathan Eckstrom, 93, of Cuero passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017. She was born October 25, 1923 in Mexia to the late Howard E. and Macie B. Murphy Trevathan, Sr. Melba married Charles M. Eckstrom on January 24, 1946 in Houston. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for TIRR in Houston. She was a homemaker, seamstress, artist, "Pitty Pat" the clown, loving mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by son N. Neal Eckstrom and wife Carol of Cuero; sister, Donna Houser of Houston; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; daughter, Madge Ledkins; sons, Charles H. Eckstrom and Timothy E. Eckstrom ; and brother, Howard E. Trevathan, Jr. Visitation will be Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Donna L. Martin officiating. Interment to follow Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston. Memorial Contributions First United Methodist Church.
