Merilyn Richards Weber, 73, of Cuero passed away Monday, April 2, 2012. She was born October 18, 1938 in Houston to the late John Carver and Sheila Reynolds Richards. She married her loving husband, Michael C. Weber, Jr., on April 11, 1954 in Richmond/Rosenburg, Texas. Merilyn owned and operated Weber Motor Company with her husband and was an intricate part of the day-to-day business operations. She was a past director for the Cuero Chamber of Commerce, an Honorary Chapter Farmer of Future Farmers of America, a past member of the Cuero Pilot Club, a volunteer for the Cuero Community Hospital, and a member of the Cuero/DeWitt Community Center Development Corporation. She was a Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church, was active in the Cuero Livestock Show, and a member of several bridge clubs.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years; daughter, Kathy Wilson and husband, Kerry, of Waxahachie; sons, Cliff Weber, III and wife, Sharon, and Richard C. Weber and wife, Holly, all of Cuero; sister, Helen 'Sissy' Tietz and husband, Ronnie, of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Mary Gayle Weber Brindley of Sugarland; brother, John Carver Richards II and wife, Carol Ann, of Cuero; grandchildren, Jonathon and wife, Jaclyn, Abigayle Hunt and husband, Lance, Mitchell Cox, Michael Weber III and wife, Morgan, Campbell Weber, Hannah Weber, Madelyn Weber, and Audrey Weber; and great-grandchildren, Fayth Hunt, Ella Hunt, Julianna Cox, and Jessa Rose Cox.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 10 a.m., at First Baptist Church with Dr. Glenn Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Jonathon Cox, Mitchell Cox, Michael Weber IV, Campbell Weber, Lance Hunt, Paul Brindley, Mitchell Brindley, Hans Brindley, and Bill Richards.
Honorary pallbearers include Jim Crain, Bob Wagner, Joe Reuss, Paul Gebauer, Dr. Raymond Reese, J.W. Pieper, Dr. Dan White, Monroe Rieger, John Zimmerman, and the employees of Weber Motor Company.
