Michael Bernard Johnson, 50, of Cuero went home to rest with his Savior May 14, 2017. He was born August 11, 1966 to Rev. Elvin and Estella Ridyolph Johnson. Michael worked 15 years at Hartman Distributing but his real love was raising cattle.
He is survived by his devoted parents; his loving wife, Melissa Johnson; son Mikey Johnson, Jr. (Kaylee) of Yoakum; step-children, Taylor Watson and Tory Littles of Cuero, Viola Wilson of Pleasanton and Tyrone Dillworth of Victoria; grandson, Zaydyn Perez of Cuero; devoted sister, Resia Leggett (Brian) of Cuero; and brothers, Kelvin Johnson (Regina), KoJack Johnson (Lisa), and Kragan Johnson all of Cuero; a host of nieces and nephews and special friends Curt Noonan and Joe Price.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Dilworth Johnson.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with funeral services to begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Raymond Mays officiating. Interment to follow at Lockhart Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Curt Noonan, Joe Price, Ty Dromgoole, Troy Johnson, Ismal Varela, Melvin Patton, Jr., Don Weathers and Jaime Mathis. Honorary pallbearers are the employees of Hartman Distributing and Cuero Livestock Commission.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Michael Johnson Endowment Fund set up at Trust Texas Bank which will be used to support ALS research and a memorial scholarship.
