Cuero, Milton Brandes Sr., 63, of Cuero, passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009. He was born Sept. 16, 1945, in Edna, to the late Carl Robert Brandes Sr. and Lether B. Brandes. He worked in the oilfield. He was a Vietnam War veteran and served as a military police corporal in the U.S. Army. He was in the DASA Joint Task Force 901st MP Division and had top secret clearance.
He is survived by his sons, Milton Dale Brandes Jr. of Buffalo, Michael Brandes of Yoakum, Billy Brandes of Richmond, Phillip Brandes of Victoria, Justin Brandes of Yoakum, Jeremy Brandes of Yoakum, and Waylon Brandes of Oakwood; brothers, Carl Robert Brandes Jr. of Yoakum and Darrell Ray Brandes of Victoria; eight grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, Feb. 10, 2009 at Freund Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009 at Hebron Baptist Church, the Rev. Buddy Means and the George officiating. Interment will be at Hebron Cemetery.
