Minnie Elizabeth Scheffler, 100, of Cuero passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011. Minnie was born on July 30, 1910 in Sweet Home. She was the daughter of Jessie and Nancy Lee. Minnie was a longtime member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Cuero. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, proud and loving grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother who brought laughter and joy to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alfonse Scheffler.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Scheffler of Baytown; daughter, Melba Hahn and husband, Robert, of Cuero; grandchildren, Leo Sharron and wife, Anne, Nancy Lancaster and husband, John, Bobby Hahn and wife, Rhonda, Karen White and husband, Mark, Kim Crain and husband, Larry, Kristi Tindol and husband, Rodney, and Keith Scheffler and wife, Kim; fifteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be Wednesday, April 27, 2011, 10 a.m., at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Kirby Hlavaty. Interment will follow at Koerth Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Bobby Hahn, Keith Scheffler, Anthony Hance, Charles Hermes, Robert Lee, and Glenn Kohutek.
