Obituary

Mitchell Everett (Mike) Goldman
was born in Cuero on Jan. 22, 1937 and passed away Feb. 1, 2011, at the age of 74 years and nine days. Mike graduated from high school in Cuero and attended college for one month and decided that college was not for him. He was employed by Brown and Root as an electrician and was assigned to several different states until each construction project was completed, always returning to Cuero. He met Judy Krutsinger in Jacinto City and after a courtship of six weeks, they were married. To this union, two children were born, Lori and Tommy. Mike retired from Brown and Root on Sept. 5, 1986 after 29 years and spent the remainder of his life in Cuero. He was an endowed member and a life member of Cuero Chapter No. 618, Order of the Eastern Star. He served as worthy patron 11 times. He was also an active member in the Masonic Lodges. He was an
endowed member and a life member of Cuero Masonic Lodge No.
409 and served as worshipful master five times. He also served as treasurer 11 years and was currently serving as treasurer. He was an endowed member of Shiner Masonic Lodge No. 1065 and served as worshipful master from 2007-2008. He served as district deputy grand master in 1996 and was district instructor six years. He was awarded the Golden Towel on June 20, 1991 and was 32nd degree Mason. He was an avid blood donor and has a certificate showing a contribution of fifteen gallons. He loved his part-time job as a stocker and made many friends, most of whom called him "Pops."

He was predeceased by his parents; one sister; his beloved son, Tommy; and his wife of 44 years, Judy.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori; his grandson, Gregory Moore
and his wife Stephanie; and a granddaughter, Ciara, whom he loved very much; and by his dogs, whom he loved very much, Coco and
Scootie. He also leaves behind his many Masonic brothers and
sisters, his brothers of the Eastern Star, and many other friends who meant so much to him. Mike was a special gentleman and we will miss him, but we will
never forget him.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at
Freund Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb.
5, 2011, at the funeral home, with interment at Hillside Cemetery. He will be laid to rest beside his wife, Judy, and son, Tommy. Lunch
will follow at Cuero Masonic Lodge.

Pallbearers will be J.C. Hull, Gary Hull, Charles G. Hull, Chuck
Wilson, Drew Wilson, Earl Long, and Tom Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers are Paul Jackson Jr., Harold Tiffin, Albert
Jahnsen, Gordon Ruschaupt, and Bubba Geffert.
