Obituary

Murle (Bill) Howell, MSG (Ret.), 85, of Cuero left this Earth to be with his heavenly Father the morning of May 29, 2023. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Bill suffered a major stroke two weeks prior and never recovered. He smiled and was compassionate all the way to the end.

Bill was born on December 13, 1937, in Ola, Arkansas. He valiantly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He earned two Purple Hearts after being shot down and taken prisoner during the Vietnam War. He went on to teach ROTC at Oklahoma State University, become a successful entrepreneur and a construction foreman. He spent the last 20 years of his life caring for his wife, Carylon, who greeted him in heaven.

Bill will be remembered as a loving and caring person who was always ready to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by his daughter, Jeanine (Chris) Coppedge; son, David (Julia) Wehmeyer; grandchildren, Ashton (Anthony), Alisha, Connor (Tori), Olivia and Grayson and great-grandchildren Jace and Layton.
