Murray Garland Asher, 63, of Pettus passed away on Friday, April 10, 2009. Born on April 16, 1945 in Cuero Texas, he was the son of Iva Lee Morrow. Murray grew up in Pettus, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos and was a member of Rabke Methodist Church in Ratcliffe.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Iva Lee Morrow; stepfather, Brooks Morrow; father, Garland Asher; stepbrother, Johnny Morrow; and stepsister, Glenna Elliot.

He is survived by his sisters, Susan Miller and her husband, T.A. of Wimberley, Nell Black and her husband, Lindy of San Antonio, and Dorothy Kidd of Beeville; his aunt, Elois Prewett of Corpus Christi; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Regency Manor Nursing Home in Floresville and Kyle Champagne of Pettus for their care and compassion.

Services will be held Monday, April 13, 2009, 2:00 p.m., at Rabke Methodist Church in Ratcliffe with Rev. Debby Lake officiating. Interment will follow at Rabke Cemetery.
