Obituary

Myrtle Rosella Wanner Lytle, 89, of Victoria, passed away Saturday July 21, 2013 in Cuero. She was born in Mountain, Wisconsin, July 24, 1923 to Martin and Christina Wanner. Before marriage, she worked as a civilian employee for the US Army during WWII where she was stationed in Alaska. Myrtle loved to travel and in her many travels she met Annie Bone, who later introduced her to her lifelong love, Buford Ray Lytle. She and Buford married February 23, 1950 in Falfurrias, TX. She spent the remainder of her married life as a housewife.

She was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing and making stuffed dolls and animals. She was active in the Victoria County Senior Citizens Center and was honored as an outstanding volunteer after 20 years where she was lovingly known as the "sock monkey lady".

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her twin brothers Richard and Robert, Martin, Paul and sister Verna. She is survived by her sons Tommy (Susie) of Bay City, Gary (Melody) of Victoria and daughter Cindy (John Bebe) of Schulenburg, sister Beverly Jobe, of Visalia, CA and aunt Ruth Moonier, of Carlsbad, CA as well as her granddaughters Kelsey and Katie and grandson Zachary Foreman all of Victoria.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 24 at 10:00 am at Freund Funeral Home, located at 213 N Gonzales in Cuero, TX. Burial will take place at Premont Cemetery located in Premont, TX on Thursday, July 25 at 11:00am.
