Obituary

Nathan Morris Garrett, 70, of Cuero passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He was born in San Francisco, CA. to Ralph Burton Garrett and Vivian Gertrude Luckenbach. He married his beloved Martha Faye Burgress on June 22, 1964 in Kerrville, TX. He enjoyed being a Little League Umpire for 43 years as well as a Volunteer at Meyersville Elementary School. He was a avid board gamer who enjoyed playing with kids and grandkids. He also loved playing dominoes, cards and reading books. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cuero.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Burgress Garrett of 49 years; daughters, Monica Carson (Brian) of Cuero, Denise Schley (Brad) of Forney; son, Deni Garrett (Jackie) of Kingsville; sisters, Judy Reid (Denny) of Highland Village and Lori Meador (Sonny) of Bay City; grandchildren, Christine and Lauren Haun of Cuero, Greyson Garrett of Kingsville, Maci and Sydni Schley of Forney, Megan (Curtis) Castillo of Cuero, and Christopher Carson of Cuero; great-grandchild, Carson Castillo of Cuero.

He is preceded in death by his parents, step-father; M.A. Kneip, and brother, Ralph Garrett (Mary).

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Pastor Karl Biermann officiating. Reception following at First Baptist Church.
