Neal A. DeDear, 77, of Cuero passed away Saturday, August 11,2012. He was born April 24,
1935 in Cuero to Fred and Lydia Lee DeDear. He married his beloved wife Johnnie Lorraine DeDear, on May 28, 1954 in North Carolina. He was a member of the US Army Paratrooper and 82nd Airborn.
He is survived by his daughters, Lydia Williams and Belinda Dahlberg and husband, Darrel, all of Cuero; sons, Fred DeDear and wife, Carol, of Houston and David DeDear and wife, Amber, of Goliad; sisters, Florence Fuller and Dovie Hess, both of Cuero; brothers, M.C. DeDear and Donald DeDear, both of Victoria, and Jerry DeDear, of Hardin, 11 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents; wife, Johnnie DeDear, sisters, Rose Gavlik, Maudell Rangnow, and Joyce Hesse; brothers, Ralph DeDear and Freddy DeDear.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 17, 2012 from 5:30-7:00 pm, at Freund Funeral Home. Service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 9:00 am, at Freund Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mission Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Fred DeDear Jr., Matt DeDear, Cameron DeDear, Christopher DeDear, Colby DeDear, Don DeDear, Jeremiah Jones, and Terry Jones Jr.
