Nelda Novene Cooper Parr, 83, of Cuero passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016. She was born March 9, 1933 in Clinton to the late Newell Willie and Lue Dell Duncan Cooper. She married Irl James Parr in Cuero on October 31, 1952. Nelda was a Christian first and foremost and was a Historian of Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by daughter, Laurie Stokley and husband, Kenneth of Victoria; sons, Lesley Parr and wife, Maxine of Cuero, Kenneth Parr and wife Terry of Leming, and Lonnie Parr and wife Veronica of Cuero; adopted daughters, Melody Borden of Houston, Vicki Cliff of Yoakum, and Paula DeForest of Cuero; sister, Wanda Spittler of Cuero; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Sherwood Cooper and Derwood Cooper. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastors Bill Gleason and Grady Arnold officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kyle Schley, Kenneth Schley, Cliff McBride, Keven McBride, Brandon Stokely, Chris Parr, Jamie Parr and Jonathan Parr.
