Obituary
Nellie Barfield Scott, 100, of Cuero passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016. She was born June 16, 1916 in Nursery to the late Archie and Jessie Myers Barfield. Nellie married, Elmo L. Scott, Sr. on June 1, 1940 in Cuero. She was a great baker whose love for cooking brought joy to many friends, family and church members.
She is survived by godson, Rev. W. Jeffrey Campbell of Houston; grandchildren, Andrea M. Scott of Cuero and Erica Glover of Victoria.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmo L. Scott, Sr.; son Elmo Scott, Jr.; sisters, Janie Fisher, Jessie Lee Barfield, Willie Mae Knox and Birdie Livingston; and brother, John Barfield.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 3 p.m. at New Hope Cemetery with the Rev. W. Jeffrey Campbell as Officiant and Rev. Samuel Jenkins as Eulogist.
