Nicholas Rene Cardenas, 14, of Cuero, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018. He was born May 26, 2003 in Cuero to Rene Jimmy and Candace Shelton Cardenas.

He is survived by his parents; sister, Madison Lee Ann Cardenas; brother, Gabriel Ethan Cardenas;  grandparents, Paula Z. Dromgoole, Rusty and Carol Shelton, and Elena Cardenas; and his aunts and uncles, Russ and Tiffany Shelton, Krystal Shelton and Aaron Branton, Elva and Clyde Rhodes, Rudy Cardenas, Cynthia Koenig, Diane Cardenas, Rose and Frank Hisquierdo, Irene and Tony Perez, Ruben Jr. and Lisa Cardenas, and Lorraine and Jason Cuellar.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jay F. Dromgoole and Ruben Cardenas

The visitation will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Freund Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with David Zimmerman officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Donavan Cardenas, Brady Cardenas, Andrew Koenig, Kendall Koenig, Sammy Solis, and Jay Hernandez.
