IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nita Jean
Pakebusch
February 8, 1943 – June 27, 2018
Loyal wife, sister, mother and grandmother, Nita Pakebusch lost her courageous battle with breast cancer on June 27, 2018. Born February 8, 1943 to Edwin and Lucille Thieme, Nita was a lifelong resident of Cuero, Texas. She graduated from Cuero High School in 1961, and married her high school sweetheart Garland Pakebusch on June 30, 1962. Nita owned Hair Designs Unlimited, for many years before retiring to spend more time with family, friends and her garden. Nita absolutely loved gardening, and could grow almost anything, according to her family. She made the best fried chicken in town, made prayer quilts at St. Marks, and loved spending time with friends, which included Bunco, Pokeno, and weekly lunches with the ladies.
Nita is survived by her brother, Larry Thieme (Barbara); children, Shelli Bouillion (Gary), Stacie Bon (Ivor), and Scott (Mandy); and grandchildren, Addison, Landry, Bryant, Daylyn, Staton, Nicholas, and Katherine.
Visitation will be Friday, June 29, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 30, 2018, 11:00 AM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, where Nita was a member, with Pastor Paul Muehlbrad officiating. Reception to follow in the fellowship hall.
Pallbearers include Michael Pakebusch, Ryan Wagner, Jay Thieme, Dennis Taylor, Randall Flessner, and Rodney Flessner. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Nita's caregivers for the care and love they have provided during her battle; Kim Burnett, Janie Barron, Chris McCalip, and Hospice of South Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials and remembrances can be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or Hospice of South Texas.
