Obituary

Norvan Edward Eichholz, 84, of Cuero passed away Saturday, July 09, 2011. He was born April 26, 1927 in Cuero to the late William Edward and Norma Ann Buchhorn Eichholz. Norvan married Gertrude Frels on May 11, 1947 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cuero. He was a graduate of Cuero High School. Norvan retired after 29 years as a valve inspector for Texas Eastern Pipeline Transmission Co. to enjoy ranching and spending time with his family. Norvan enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching the Cuero Gobblers in all sports, particularly football, baseball, and track. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Cuero Volunteer Auxiliary Fire Department.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years; son, James Paul Eichholz of Cuero; son-in-law, John Baker of Keller; brother, William 'Billy' Eichholz of Cuero; grandchildren, Colton Eichholz of Victoria, John Baker Jr. of Keller, James 'Jim' Baker of Austin, and Amanda 'Mandy' Baker of Keller; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joyce Klaus and Charlene Walter; brother, Bobby Charles Eichholz Sr.; daughter, Patricia Ann Baker; and grandsons, Thomas Shelton Eichholz and Christopher Edward Baker.

Visitation will be Monday, July 11, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2011, 9:30 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church Building Fund or St. Michael's Endowment Fund.
